LOL….Im gonna report back to you!….lol

  3. Almanzarlorenzo says:

Do you think he dint really go in depth with the human world because the movie was already to long or do you think he’s probably thinking of using that for part2? The movie was great over you get lost in the navi world and probably that was his goal to get us lost in to their world…and having the cliche characters motivated the fact to be like wtf..and basically understand the navi….maybe he shot for a one sided story as well…but who knows…

  4. Almanzarlorenzo says:

But one thing is for sure Your damn right when you state that if he had when more in depths and added a little more conflict between the outside characters and not the navi people the movie would have been epic!

  5. Almanzarlorenzo says:

Love the review…nice job man! Do you think their is going to be a novel? Or a part 2?

I love your point about how Star Wars and the Matrix took other ideas and did them the best. I feel like this is why Avatar is amazing. I feel like the idea that the characters on the human side are simplistic is genius. It says a lot that the futuristic, tech savvy humans are far more simplistic than the nature driven Navi. The fact that we appreciate Pandora much more than the human world is a good idea. Humanity has lost it’s rituals, and everything that made it human.

@Clarke3000 – Yeah I look forward to a special edition Avatar bluray/DVD set complete with deleted scenes re-edited back into the film for more insight.

avatar is a very expensive way to push WHITE guilt on everyones face by a more Liberal James Cameron, all those nature films got to his head along with the morons he hangs with clearly.

Humans are wrong, oil is wrong, war is evil…everything is bad. but random peaceful people who never fight (lie) are eternally better then humans can ever be.

its typical al gore hollywood bullshit.

    Green is the new RED.

    Who pays attention in school?

I liked the story. Because this movie was not like any other. I felt like I was there. Ya know in the other movies (I don’t watch many so u may get me on this) its like “OH NO!” and u just watch them and they move about and u hear “AGH!” but in this movie u got to really see and experience it all. It was more realistic to me. Both in the visuals and the world and economically and scientifically and etc etc

I don’t mind that Cameron borrow elements other movies. But this message that humans are horriable people and you be ashamed of your self. That’s not like we learn leason in freaking history class, I get we wrong to the native americas, we wrong to africain america, but reall any reason learn leason over and over again, when learned in school.

it now hit the 1 billion dollar mark, this guy whilst im subscribed and like his humor hes so fucking nit picky like jesus get over it and fucking enjoy the movie

  13. hammer1727 says:

it wasnt about the fucking humans it was about the fucking na’vi? like in the sequel we might get more

  14. Clarke3000 says:

I see were you are coming from with on the veiws of the characters but i didn’t notice that. The min conflict that makes jake a charater is within himself especially in the middle where he was accepted and near the end when he had to make a choice. Also sadly there was a good chunk of the story was cut. There was a scene were the sargent and the corperate man were verbaly fighting so there were probably other character foring scenes cut. Those will be in the final version of the film.

@LukeLovesRose This is an amazing feat! It’s on a crazy pace! Let it be a lesson – creativity IS profitable!

  16. LukeLovesRose says:

The BO is now up to 745 million.

And again, stop trying to tear this apart. If Avatar was a novel before Cameron made it into a movie, no one would be saying a goddamn thing.

It is a TRULY GREAT movie. Go see it again.

We’re supposed to feel alienated from the humans. We are the aliens in Independence Day for crying out loud.

  17. CylonAndrew says:

Dude, I see humans every day, time for change, I want to see the NAVI!!!!

  18. Pandoora says:

Jake is some stereotypical marine, the best soldier is that one who doesnt have big ow mind…

This film is also a critisze about soldier and meaning of war. (hidden vietnam war for example)

But there should be more scene with human, but th film is 2h40 min!

And Jakes Leg idea is great from moviepreviewguy! Goodjob!

  19. crustymethaddict says:

“i’m just gana wait for everything to happen to me” lol very true i also thought the same about the Sargent guy

  22. moviepreviewcritic says:

Wonderfully said! I agree…I just wish it would have been clearer. There are some missing moments, just a shot here and there of the inner struggle/dreams/desires. No words or extra scenes needed, just capture that moment. And, it wouldn’t hurt if he would’ve actually said that…”Everyone thinks I”m a joke, a lost cause….I’ll prove that I belong…” something that communicates that struggle…otherwise we have to make it up (think Obi-Wan describing Luke’s father’s fall to the dark side)

    CON’T FROM BELOW:

As for a lack of back-story regarding humanity, you have to remember that this is just the introductory film and more (including the Giovanni Ribisi’s character) would be back in the sequels.

I DO agree, however, that dialogue is really cheesy but that’s usually expected in a PG-13 rated film.

Good work as always, MPC. And LLGM!

    CONTINUED FROM BELOW:

Jake doesn’t go to Pandora for the $ or to get his legs back but he goes to have a spiritual sense of belonging fighting among his warrior brothers. This is why Jake is so ready to accept the COLONEL’s request for recon intelligence. Jake just wants to belong. The reason y his human personality is not fleshed is to emphasize the idea that Jake does not belong among us. The entire movie is about his journey to find TRUE belonging among the Navi’i, whose ethics are pure.

  25. origen01 says:

Oh, mpc I disagree with your critique of the character profiles–especially in regards to Jake. You see, Cameron made Jake a Marine, which the most tribal branch in the US armed services. Once a Marine always a Marine and ALL Marines stick together. Its clear that Jake is forgotten among his bretheren. On Earth, Marines are faithful and loyal but on Pandora they are simply “mercenaries”. They do not care about Jake, rather they ostracize him b/c of his disability (“breakfast on wheels”).
